Forgotten Truths - Part 1

Sitting in the rain, she wonders why this had to happen to her. With her iPod turned up as loud as it would go, she cried to herself in the dark of the night. No one around to hear her sobs. No one to call to sit by her trembling side. Thinking back to her past, she had lived a good life. She had great friends, and even better family. She never really had to be alone, but now she had no one.
The tragedy started two years ago in a small town, she had just moved to this town and already most of the locals knew her name. They were very kind, always trying to help her find her way. She didn't think she needed their help, so politely she would excuse herself and go on her way. She was happy living here and everyone knew it. She had a beautiful smile and she wore it everywhere. The townspeople saw her as a beautiful mystery. They were itching to know her story but she never revealed it to any of them. She would always avoid talking about where she came from, and why she left. It was like she was hiding something. Eventually, all the buzz about the new girl in town would die down and the town’s people left her alone.
A few weeks would pass and she remained the same, except for her smile. Her smile was fading, but she still kept to herself. No one seemed to notice that something wasn’t quite right. The secret life that she had been trying so hard to hide was finally collapsing on her. She often wondered why more people weren’t worried about her, that is, until the one person that ever really mattered to her was standing in front of her once again. She didn’t want him to be here, she was afraid of the judgment she thought was coming to her. He knew her story and could see through the fake smile that she wore so elegantly when she moved to this town. He wasn’t there to judge her like she thought he was. He was there to help her come to the realization of what she had refused to let herself believe.
